Seeress has existed as a continually evolving entity since 2014, developing a deep ability to convey the extremes of human emotion through dynamic instrumentation in the realms of post rock/metal. Coalescing a sound around their 2017 release Great Void and taking this development even further with 2019's The Dream Passes. They simultaneously developed a reputation for creating a visceral live experience, known to envelope their audiences in sound and fury.
When the world turned upside down and society came to a temporary stand still, Seeress took a deep dive inward to reimagine the possibilities of their music, creating personal meaning and structure amidst the chaos through pushing their music forward. With the addition of vocals, they used melody & harmony along with their explosive dynamics to build a new sound and refined compositional approach, with a focus on both songwriting and experimentalism. Echoes of the midwest, shoegaze, goth, hardcore and psychedelia reverberated throughout these new sounds.
Empathy is the only way through this shitstorm wasteland. The power starved greed demons who run this world want everyone to forget that. Their clergymen of Fear proselytize its message to ensure an unrelenting stranglehold on the world. This album was birthed in fear and what came out was a revelation of what Empathy really means.
Empathy was recorded by the Legendary Jim Wirt at Superior Sound and Mastered by another Legend Alan Douches at West West Side Music.
